Battery Storage

Backup power, and retrofits for systems you already own

Battery storage for homes and businesses across Maryland, Virginia and DC. We install it with new solar or add it to the panels you already have.

What storage does

What storage does

We’re just as clear about what it can’t do. That’s where most disappointment starts.

  • Outage backup

Keeps chosen circuits running when the grid goes down. We pick those circuits with you.

  • Retrofit to existing solar

You don’t need new panels. We add storage to systems already on the roof, including ones we didn’t install.

  • Self-consumption

Store the power you make during the day and use it in the evening.

  • Whole home or essentials

Whole-home backup is possible, and it costs more. We’ll tell you honestly which one you need.

  • Electrical work included

Our electricians handle panel and service work. They’re the same people who wire substations.

  • Monitoring

See what the battery is doing. We can watch it too, if you want us to.

Our approach

How the work runs

  1. Assess

We study the site and the load. At a home, that means your roof, your usage and your real electric bill. At a substation, it means a site and load study.

  2. Design

We handle engineering, drawings, permits and buying. You see the plan and what it involves before work starts.

  3. Build

Our crews install it, get it inspected and switch it on. We work around your day and the outage windows you can give us.

  4. Support

After handover we monitor, maintain and service the system. We look after systems other firms installed, too.

Can I add a battery to solar I already have?

Usually, yes, even on systems another company installed. Your inverter decides how simple the job is, so we check it first.

How long will it run my house?

It depends on the battery, what you run and for how long. We won’t guess before we’ve seen your usage. We work it out from your real consumption during the assessment.

Do I need solar to have a battery?

No. A battery on its own still keeps the lights on in an outage. The economics change without panels charging it.

What happens in a long outage?

We size and set up the system around the circuits that matter to you. Part of the assessment is agreeing which ones those are.
